MANICÓMIO is the first art gallery and creative space in Portugal working exclusively with artists who have or have had mental health issues. Located at a co-work space in Lisbon, this creative hub is a space that fosters creativity and innovation and co-creation between artists and other creatives. MANICÓMIO is the result of over 20 years of fighting for dignity and recognition of artists who are simply excluded from the art world because of their mental health. From the art work, MANICÓMIO has expanded to other creative and commercial areas, such as a creative agency, a radio, a magazine and partnerships with brands.
